
Consultation on the Proposal to Reduce the Published Admission Number (PAN) at Ysgol Maes Y Mynydd
Following the meeting of Wrexham Council’s Executive Board on Tuesday 7th July 2026, we can confirm that the consultation to reduce the Published Admission Number at Ysgol Maes Y Mynydd from 51 to 45 was approved. The reduction in the Published Admission Number will take effect from September 2027.
The reasons for this decision are:
- The Council has a duty to ensure that the children and young people of Wrexham are being afforded the education and learning opportunities they deserve, which includes providing suitable learning environments and monitoring the demand for school places.
- To improve the suitability and viability of the school estate.
- To develop sustainable learning environments.

Wrexham County Borough Council are holding a formal consultation on the following proposal:
To reduce the Published Admission Number (PAN) at Ysgol Maes Y Mynydd with effect from September 2027
Following consultation, the Council will consider whether the proposal should be implemented.
This is your opportunity to ask questions and make comments that will be considered by the Council's Executive Board, who will decide how to proceed.
The formal consultation period will begin on 2nd December 2025 and will end on 2nd February 2026.
