_________________________________________________________

Wrexham County Borough Council are holding a formal consultation on the following proposal:

To reduce the Published Admission Number (PAN) Wat’s Dyke Community Primary School from 45 to 30 with effect from September 2026.

The Council is proposing these changes as over the past 3 years demand for pupil places at Ysgol Wat's Dyke has declined and forecasts indicate that the number of surplus places at the school is projected to increase.

The Welsh Language Standards promote and facilitate the Welsh language and ensure that the Welsh language is not treated less favourably than the English language in Wales. As a public body, the Council is fully committed to and is legally bound to comply with the Welsh language standards. This consultation is underpinned by a number of impact assessments, including a Welsh Language Impact Assessment which is publicly available on the Council’s website and can be read alongside questions relating to the Welsh language in this survey.

Following consultation on this proposed change, the Council will consider whether the proposal should be implemented.

This is your opportunity to ask questions and make comments that will be considered by the Council’s Executive Board, who will decide how to proceed.

The formal consultation period will begin on Monday 2nd December 2024 and will end on Friday 24th January 2025.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your views. Please note that whilst we welcome and take account of all views received, we are not able to reply to individual questions or comments sent in response to the consultation.

Responses to the survey questions will be analysed and key themes will be identified. Examples of comments under each theme will be made available to Elected Members for decision making purposes and they will also be responded to via publication of a post consultation report.

Comments received during this period will be taken into consideration before the objection report is finalised.

The consultation period for this proposal starts on 2nd December 2024 and ends on Friday 24th January 2025.

Please note: There will be a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) available during the consultation on the webpage. This will be regularly updated during the consultation period.
