We’re asking for views on a range of options as to how we can re-shape the services we deliver, in order to meet the budget pressure and remain financially resilient.

The options we have presented are:

  • For two or more services to be provided in the same location – either in a building owned by Wrexham Council, or by another organisation. This could help join up services for residents and reduce or share costs. This is called ‘co-locating services’.
  • For Wrexham Council to retain and run some Community Resource Centres and library services, but to agree for other organisations to run others independently.  This is called ‘mixed delivery of services that are available to the public’.
  • The reduction of community resource centres and libraries operated by Wrexham Council, in favour of working with third parties to achieve community provision, for example through ‘Community Asset Transfers’. This is where the council could transfer the management and ownership of its Community Resource Centres and libraries to an organisation, for them to run independently of the council.

Although no decisions have been made on the options, we would like to hear from people, organisations or groups who might be interested in the options above, or through volunteering to help maintain services.

If you are interested, or would like more information, we’d like to hear from you.

You can answer the questions either as an individual, or on behalf of an organisation or group, and you only need to answer the questions that apply to you. We’ll also ask you for your contact information so that we can respond to you.
