The School Organisation Code (2026) requires Local Authorities to prepare a consultation document and carry out several impact assessments to give due consideration to the effects of a proposal on the Welsh Language and the Community.

Phases
The Initial Feedback Period
Phase 1 – The Initial Feedback Period
The initial feedback period (surveys, letters, emails, comments from drop-in sessions) for this consultation will begin on 2 June 2026 and will end on 16 July 2026. This is the period when the online surveys for adults and children and young people will be live.
There are several ways in which you can communicate your views with us including:
- Completing the online survey (please see above for details).
- Emailing your views to ALNschoolconsultation@wrexham.gov.uk
- Returning a response pro-forma which can be requested from the address below.
Alternatively, you can submit your views in writing to: New Special School Consultation, Education, Lambpit Street, Wrexham, LL11 1AR.
Due to the volume of responses we receive, we will not be able to acknowledge written responses or enter into correspondence with interested parties either during or after the initial feedback period.
All responses will be analysed, and key themes with examples of comments received, will be made available to Elected Members in a post consultation report for decision making purposes before Phase 2 of the consultation is given approval to proceed.
Please be advised that after 16 July 2026, the online survey will close, and any additional responses received will be unable to be considered as part of this consultation.
We kindly advise that any comments will not be treated as objections at this stage.
